'People's Odarpu For Jagan & Congress Soon'

Like YS Rajasekhar Reddy who rocked the state with his sparkling speeches before 2004 election, TDP leader Chandrababu is repeating it now. He is leaving no stone unturned to attack Congress and Jagan with his word weapons.

'For whose life Jagan is doing Odarpu Yatra from the last two years other than publicizing his party and its manifesto', fumed Naidu. 'Days are nearer for people to do odarpu for them as they will bite mud soon', he adds. Telugudesam supremo has been touring in the constituencies scheduled for by-polls from a couple of days.

Chandrababu made it clear that Congress' inefficiency and Jagan's corruption are the main weapons of Teludesam for the coming by-polls. Currently touring in Srikakulam district, Naidu said that TD did only one mistake by joining hands with NDA earlier, but never failed like Congress in ruling the state effectively. He stressed that Congress, YSR Congress and TRS had secret pacts to share power in the state rather thinking about development.

Not sure about 'Hyd in Telangana': Danam

Congress minister Danam Nagender made sensational comments on Telangana issue by saying that although he is in favour of statehood in the past, he changed his stand due to the current political situation in the state.

"When we are Opposition, we collected signatures of 41 leaders in support of the Telangana statehood. It was late YSR who encouraged us to do so. But the political scenario has changed completely now,'" he said.

The minister, who made it clear to the Sri Krishna Committee that Hyd should be made Union Territory, now says that he is unsure of to which region Hyderabad belongs to. "I'm a Hyderabad minister. I was born and brought up here. To which region Hyderabad belongs to is not yet decided. I'm not sure whether Hyderabad will be there in Telangana or not. It's up to the High Command to decide that," said Danam.

Danam reiterated that only the Congress government and Sonia Gandhi can take a decision on the Telangana issue. "It's a known fact that the dream of statehood can't come true with the regional parties. So, strengthening the leadership of Sonia Gandhi will benefit the people of the state," he told.

Shahrukh detained - US apologises, but India serious

Indian government has taken the detention of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan at a New York airport very seriously. Although the US immigration authorities have expressed 'profound' apologies for the detention incident, external affairs minister SM Krishna has asked the 'Indian ambassador to US', Nirupama Rao, to take up the matter with the highest US authorities.

"It has become a policy of detention and apology by the US and this shouldn't be continued," said SM Krishna reacting strongly to the incident.

The immigration officials questioned Shahrukh for nearly two hours immediately after he reached US in a private plane at White Plains Airport. Finally, the clearance was given to the actor after the intervention by Indian Consulate General (CGI). SRK was in US to address students at Yale University.

"Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself, I take a trip to America. The immigration guys kicked the star out of stardom," said SRK reacting to his detention.

This not the first time Shahrukh was detained by the immigration officials in US. In 2009, the actor was detained at the Newark Airport in New Jersey.
